Radiant Options[edit]
Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Travel to the location of the Fragment of Wuuthrad.
- Fight the enemies there, and grab the fragment.
- Return to Jorrvaskr.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
This is a radiant quest that will take you to a random camp to retrieve one of the Fragments of Wuuthrad that has been acquired by the Silver Hand. You will need to fight your way through to the destination's boss chest, where you will find the fragment.
Reward[edit]
Levels† | Reward‡ | USLEEP Reward |
---|---|---|
1–9 | 100 | 100 |
10–19 | 150 | 150 |
20–29 | 300 | 200 |
30–39 | 300 | 250 |
40+ | 300 | 300 |
†Level is based on when the player completed the previous quest (or level one for the first quest), not the player's level when receiving the quest or its reward.
‡The reward amounts for radiant Companions quests do not progress as intended.
- The Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch, version 3.0.3, fixes this bug. (details)
Notes[edit]
This quest is no longer available once Wuuthrad is reforged during Glory of the Dead, meaning you will at most be able to complete this quest a few times. It is also possible to never receive this quest making 100% completition of the Companions quests impossible.
- To make sure you receive this quest make a save in The Underforge during The Silver Hand before receiving the objective to participate in the blood ritual. Everytime you reload this save Aela's next radiant quest will be different.
Bugs[edit]
- Accepting this quest while other Companions quests are active may leave you unable to complete it.
- You may receive this quest from Aela despite completing Glory of the Dead. This may be caused after the events of The Silver Hand, accepting Aela's first quest, and accepting one of the other companion's quests. By the time you complete the Companions' quest line, Aela may have the second mission queued.
- After returning and reporting to Aela, your quest will be acknowledged as complete in the journal, but it may remain in your active quest list. If this happens, Aela will not give you any further Silver Hand radiant quest to do (but will still give Skyrim:Animal Extermination quests). This bug can occurr with any Silver Hand radiant quest. ?

Notes
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage CR11 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest usingresetquest CR11
.
