Disarm is a shout that pulls the weapon out of an opponent's grasp.
It is one of the more common shouts used by draugr, which can be quite an issue if you are wielding a unique weapon, as the weapon can easily be lost when thrown from your hand. It can also cost you the unique Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls in Ironbind Barrow, because Warlord Gathrik will use this shout on Salma, and when she is disarmed, she may grab the weapon from the back of his throne, and if you do not collect it from her before leaving the barrow, she will despawn with it.
Related Quests[edit]
- Speaking With Silence: Track down the Dunmer behind the Guild's misfortunes.
Possible Uses[edit]
- Denying enemies their weapons, impairing their ability to inflict damage.
- Taking an enemy's unique weapon.
- Taking an enemy's weapon if you have lost yours to this shout.
Notes[edit]
- Bound weapons are not affected.
- The left-hand weapon of a dual-wielding character will be placed in the inventory instead of being dropped.
- It is not necessary to finish Speaking With Silence to learn all three words, just start it.
- Draugr stop using this shout after you reach level 31, as you are immune to it. However, draugr will sometimes use the shout on a lower-level follower.
- It's possible to sheathe your weapon just as the Draugr begin to use this shout (when they stand up straight just before casting a Shout) and thus prevent your weapon from being disarmed. The "disarm sound" will still play when the shout hits you, but has no other effect because your weapon wasn't in your hand at the time of the shout.
