Help discover the fate of a lost party
I met Glurbasha, a member of a research expedition looking into the Dwarven ruin of Rkindaleft. While exploring the ruin, they were attacked by strange creatures. I told her I would look for any survivors.


Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Search for Dorand.
  2. Close the valves powering the central chamber.
  3. Kill Vessel of the Auditor.
  4. Decide what to do with the Vessel's controller.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Inside the Rkindaleft Foyer, you'll find a distraught orc bemoaning the fate of the exploration party to which she belonged. Led by Dorand, the party had attempted to explore and loot the ruin during a thaw, but they were attacked by strange orc-like creatures. She asks you to help find some of the party members.

Pass through the door into the Rkindaleft Halls and turn north. In the next chamber, turn east. In the next chamber, you'll find Dorand's remains on a small hill. Read his notes and you'll discover he believed the unusual orcs are being controlled by some unknown entity, and that turning off several valves may allow access to that entity.

Head east to find the Inceptive Valve. After closing it (by standing on the south side of the mechanism), go through the open doorway to head outside. At the first platform outside, turn east to find and close the Transductive Valve. Then head west, following the path along the ridge north of the river. After passing the Animus Resonation Chamber (where the Group Event is located), the path bends northward to head higher. After finding the passage through the rock wall, you'll descend toward the river, where you'll find Cinosarion. (Initiating his concurrent quest, Hidden History, will help you complete both quests most efficiently. There are two pieces of evidence in the valley, which you can collect before ascending to the plateau described below.)

Head north (higher up again) to the plateau that overlooks the valley. Find and close the Astrictive Valve, then head into the Tonal Auditorium nearby. Inside, it's an immediate fight with the Vessel of the Auditor. After defeating it, speak with the Harmonic Auditor. Now you'll have to decide whether or not to let him live. Closing the nearby Auditorial Valve will kill him, or you can return directly to Glurbasha if you want to let him live. Either way, speaking with Glurbasha completes the quest.

Notes[edit]

  • Dorand won't exist next to his notes before starting the quest.
  • The Vessel of the Auditor is a tough fight, as it has a massive attack that will one-hit characters if they get into melee range. It is possible, but tricky, to kite the Vessel –- it's a tight area with many obstacles to get stuck on if you wander too far. An easier tactic is to duo the Vessel –- one person can be doing damage while it chases the other person.
  • The Harmonic Auditor won't exist in the chair before starting the quest or reaching the related objective. The Vessel of the Auditor won't appear then as a result.

I should search the ruin for Dorand, the leader of this expedition. Glurbasha thinks he might still be alive.
Objective: Search for Dorand.
I found Dorand, the expedition's leader. Before he died, he said there was a terrible threat within these ruins. I should examine his notes.
Objective: Examine Dorand's Final Notes.
According to Dorand's notes, three pressure valves direct vast amounts of heat and power to a locked central chamber. He believed it was for some nefarious purpose. I should find and close these valves.
Objective: Close the Inceptive Valve.
Objective: Close the Transductive Valve.
Objective: Close the Astrictive Valve.
Dorand suspected there was a great threat within the Tonal Auditorium. With the pressure valves closed, I should explore the central chamber.
Objective: Explore the Tonal Auditorium.
It seems the pressure valves had something to do with a massive Dwarven construct! I should defeat this Vessel of the Auditor.
Objective: Defeat Vessel of the Auditor.
I defeated Vessel of the Auditor, which was controlled by a person connected with Rkindaleft itself. I should speak with him about his intentions.
Objective: Talk to Harmonic Auditor.
Harmonic Auditor no longer poses a threat to Rkindaleft. With his plans in ruins, he asked me to end his suffering. I must decide whether to close the final pressure valve and kill him, or return to Glurbasha and leave him to his fate.
Complete one: Close Auditorial Valve to kill Harmonic Auditor or Return to Glurbasha and leave Harmonic Auditor alive.
Finishes quest☑ (If choose to kill him) I decided to kill Harmonic Auditor. I should return to Glurbasha and let her know what happened.
