Realm of Peryite

The Realm of Peryite is a medium-sized world where Peryite's quest takes place (quest-specific).

Peryite will open a Portal to the realm if you activate the Prince's Daedric shrine at a suitable level. This portal is one-way, and Peryite will only open another once you've rescued the souls of all the Prince's followers.

The only goal in the realm is to speak to the scattered souls of Peryite's followers (see the quest page for more details). The map markers aren't very helpful, as lava often separates you from your destination. Two cave systems will help you navigate the terrain. Two towers dot the landscape, but only one is accessible.

You begin at location S on the map. The entire landmass is traversable by foot, bar a small eastern island which is surrounded by lava, although stepping stones make the crossing relatively easy. A molten lagoon separates the northwest of the landmass from the starting area, as does a lava bay the southeast. A large mountain in the west acts as an obstacle, limiting travel to a small cave. The boss-level Fleshy Pod can be found near the entrance to Blood Well, beside Ilvel Romayn. A boss-level Daedric enemy can be found at the crossroads in the southwest part of the island, which is marked by a large archway.

Key to Map
Realm of Peryite

You will begin in the center of the island (at S on map), surrounded by a series of ruined walls. There are three paths heading out from here, but take the western one. Battle past up to 6 enemies, avoid the Claw Trap at s and loot a Fleshy Pod along the way, until you reach a large stone archway. From here, you will see a tower in the distance to the southwest, so head towards it and fight past a boss-level Daedra (A). After negotiating a further three Claw Traps (s) you will arrive at the entrance of the Blood Well tower (door G). Nearby is the soul of Ilvel Romayn (1) and a Fleshy Pod.

Turn round and head north this time, battling past up to four enemies and avoiding three more Claw Traps (s) until you reach door B, which leads to the first The Sightless Grotto cave. Just in front of it you will find the soul of Er-Teeus (2). Either venture inside the cave, or head cross-country across the mountain now blocking your way until you reach the cave's exit at door C. Here you will also find two Fleshy Pods guarded by up to three enemies. Follow the path ahead as it winds across the northern part of the world, battling past up to 5 enemies until you reach a ruined stone bridge. Pass underneath it and press on until you reach an open area enclosed by walls and decorated with corpses on pikes. Here you will find Kewan's soul (3) alongside a Fleshy Pod and up to 4 enemies.

Just to the south you will find up to 2 more enemies guarding the entrance (D) to another cave zone (also called The Sightless Grotto). You can use this cave system to reach the small island just off the eastern edge of the world, where you will emerge from door E. The island is dominated by a collapsing tower, which cannot be accessed, and hosts one Daedra and the soul of Maren the Seal (4) next to a large bonfire.

If you'd rather skip the caves, it is possible to reach the island by instead continuing south along the path from door D. Be ready to avoid three further Claw Traps (s) and an Avalanche trap (a) along the way, as well as to battle up to 7 enemies. Once you spot the island's tower, head east past a few ruined walls and use the conveniently-placed stepping stones to reach the island.

Once you're done, jump back to the mainland and continue along the path as it heads south and then curves to the west. There are up to 7 enemies to contend with in this section, as well as a Fleshy Pod. Once you reach the final peninsula, you will be greeted by up to 3 enemies guarding two Fleshy Pods and the soul of Mirie (5). Now that you have collected all five souls, make the long trek back to the central area and use the newly-opened Magic Portal at F to return to Tamriel. If you have sufficiently high health and Athletics, it is possible to swim across the lava from Mirie to the portal without dying.

Ride the Corpse Masher up to the next level of the tower, and make your way up the spiraling ramp, encountering another Daedra along the way. At the top of the tower you will be rewarded with access to a Blood Fountain and a Magicka Essence, allowing you to quickly regenerate your health and magicka for further exploration.

The Sightless Grotto (Cave01)[edit]

The Sightless Grotto

This small cave leads beneath a mountain on the western side of the island, which would otherwise be a lot more difficult to get around. Assuming you have entered from the southern entrance (B on the map; near where you find Er-Teeus), you will be faced with a ramp leading down to a large cavern, which contains a Daedric enemy who has likely already spotted you. Two passages diverge from this cavern; the one on your right is a dead end, containing a Fleshy Pod at the end of it; the one to your left slopes gently upwards and exits into another cavern. This room contains another Daedra, and splits off again in two directions. The one to your right when entering the room is the safest option, while the one on your left contains another Daedra, guarding a Fleshy Pod. The two paths lead to an open room containing a Daedric enemy, another Fleshy Pod and a dangerous Harrada plant. Once again you are faced with two tunnels, but it doesn't matter which one you choose. Both of them curve downwards and meet up again at door C, which exits on the other side of the mountain.

The Sightless Grotto (Caves01)[edit]

The Sightless Grotto

Not to be confused with the completely separate cave on the western side of the island.

This is the first zone in a small cave system leading to the small island where you will find Maren, offering an alternative to leaping across the lava. You will enter this zone in the northeast of the main island, which will place you in an open room at the top of the cave (door D on the map). Begin to make your way down the single available passage, avoiding the swinging harrada and dealing with the Daedra in the next room. From here, another ramp will lead down into a large area with another Daedra. Continue onward down the winding tunnels, encountering another Daedric enemy along the way, until the rock becomes less grey and more reddish. Here, the paths diverge in two directions. Continuing straight ahead will bring you to the exit, guarded by a Daedra; taking a right will result in a longer route through a few small caverns, encountering an additional Daedra and two Fleshy Pods along the way. Exit the zone through door G on the map, and continue on through the second half of the caves.

The Sightless Grotto (Caves02)[edit]

The Sightless Grotto

You will enter this zone at G, in a relatively safe area. Turn left and descend the ramp until the stone turns from grey to red. You can continue straight ahead into the main cavern, or you can turn right and go down a short passage, ending up in the same room but encountering a Daedric enemy along the way. The main cavern branched off in three directions; the north tunnel is a dead end, containing a Daedra and a Fleshy Pod. The other two ways both lead to a small room containing nothing but an ominous red mist. Take the southwestern passage and hug the right wall to continue onward; the other passage harbors nothing other than an additional Daedra. The rock will eventually return to a cool grey, and you will exit into a large cavern containing a Fleshy Pod and a door (E on the map). This door will deposit you on a small eastern island, beneath the ruins of a tower. Collect Maren's soul, and either trek back through the caves or hop across the lava and back to the mainland.
