Marc Hanse

Marc Hanse is a Breton noble who lives with his wife, Yvette Hanse, in a mansion in Leyawiin.

Marc leads a simple life. He rises at 6am every morning and spends his day lounging around the house, except when he goes to the library to read a book from 10am to 3pm. He eats dinner at 8pm for two hours, then spends some time chatting with his wife before they go to bed at midnight.

Marc wears an outfit of upper-class clothing and jewelry, which he changes regularly; he carries a large amount of gold, a key to the house, and a loaf of bread.

The Hanse villa is a sprawling mansion located in the Chapel District. The main doors open into a foyer, where Marc has a large desk. An archway to the right leads to the kitchen, which has a large dining table, a long counter, and a big fireplace for cooking. A set of doors in the back of the kitchen opens into a smaller room that Yvette uses for painting. A small sitting room flanked by two storage rooms sits on the other side of the entryway. A set of stairs leads up to the second floor. The door to the left leads to the bedroom. It has a small foyer separate from the main room by a set of doors; the bedroom itself has a bed, two armoires, large table, three dressers, and several tapestries on the walls. The door at the other end of the hall leads to the library, the walls of which are lined with bookcases full of books.

Marc is a little short on manners: "...I'm sorry, but I'm at a loss as to what you are doing in my home? May I ask why you have invaded my privacy?" If you tell him he has a nice home, he snaps at you:

"I'm so glad you enjoy it, after all, it was built entirely just to impress you! I'm so happy, I may have to burn it down and build another one, just to see if you like that too."

There's no need for sarcasm.

"Well, how do you expect me to address some vagrant that has just walked in off the streets, bringing the filth in with them on their shoes, right into my private estate?"

You could be nicer.

"Very well, I will... how are you? Are you well? Would you like a drink, or perhaps something to eat? Are you tired? How about a bed?"

I'm fine, thanks

"Oh wonderful, that does warm my heart... is there anything else you need?"

If you finally get around to asking what he does, he says: "I'm a collector of fine literature... just in case you don't understand, that means books. I have an entire study full of them, and I plan on widening my collection in the foreseeable future. My wife, on the other hand, is quite handy around the stove... whenever she's not out shopping for fresh ingredients, something that is so very hard to find in this squalor of a town, she's baking in the kitchen. I'm sure if you ask her nicely, she'll give you something to eat... she tends to be quite charitable to those who clearly are in need of it. Now, if you don't mind, while this conversation is absolutely riveting, I have better things to do, such as bathing... I wouldn't expect you to understand."
