Garance

Garance is a Dark Elf commoner who spends most of her time in her house in Bravil, practicing her cooking.

Garance rises every morning at 8am and works in her house all morning. At noon, she goes to The Gallows Cookhouse to eat lunch and swap recipes with Awei for three hours. After lunch, she returns to her house and settles in to read her book for the rest of the afternoon; at 7pm, she gets up and continues to work around the house until 1am, when she goes to bed.

She wears a patched vest, woven pants, and woven boots. She carries a copy of The Real Barenziah, v1, a cheese wheel, an apple, and the key to her house.

Her house, located on an upper level on the west side of town, near the gallows, is small and cluttered. The door opens onto a loft, with a ladder leading down to a single room that serves as a living area, dining room, and kitchen. She has a table with a pot for cooking, another table with a pair of stools for eating, and a third for doing work or reading. Her bedroom is a smaller room closed off behind a curtain, which holds a bed, a shelf, and several containers for storage.

Garance is friendly and willing to share her passion for cooking with visitors: "Mmmm, you smell that? Isn't it wonderful? It's one of my mother's recipes from Morrowind... shame it still has a while to cook before it's ready to eat..." If you ask what's in it, she replies: "Oooh, a chef never reveals her secrets... Mmmm, it smells so good... maybe I should add some bergamot, just to add a little more flavour..."
