Bohrs the Tanner owns and runs the tannery in Bruma

Bohrs the Tanner is a Nord hunter and trapper who makes his living from selling pelts and tanned hides.

He gets up at 8am every day and spends a couple hours working around his house before he eats a two-hour breakfast. At 1pm, he goes outside to work, tanning hides, skinning carcasses, or gutting animals he's caught. He spends the afternoon (four hours) out there until it gets too cold to work, then comes inside to work for another hour. At 6pm, he sits down to eat a leisurely dinner for three hours, then he resumes puttering around the house until he goes to bed at 1am.

Bohrs wears a wolfskin vest, huntsman leather pants, and fur boots, and is armed with a rusty iron war axe. He carries the key to his house, a loaf of bread, and three pieces of salted meat.

Bohrs' house is located in the southeastern part of Bruma, near the slums. It is a single-room affair crowded with all sorts of clutter. The half closest to the door is his workspace; it has a washstand where he treats skinned hides, a tanning rack, and a fireplace. The other half is his living space - it holds a small dining table, a cupboard and shelves for storage, and his bed. Crowded though it is, the house feels more cozy than claustrophobic; tapestries and hides hang on the walls, and everything is neatly organized. It does reek of lye, however, as he uses it to treat the hides.

The first time you meet him, he'll apologize for the smell: "Don't worry about the smell, I just use lye when I'm dealing with furs! Just be careful you don't get any in your eyes, it stings like hell." If you ask what he does, he'll happily tell you: "Not much to it, really... probably the hardest part is catching the damn animal first! You just cut it, shave it, wash it, dry it, like I said, there isn't much to it. But, if you don't know what you're doing, you're just going to make a mess of a perfectly good hide, and that would be a shame. Hey, you know what? You look like a bit of a hunter, eh? Listen, I'm not as young as I used to be, and tracking wild animals is starting to get hard on my poor legs. If you can bring me five pelts from both bears and wolves, I'll be sure to make it worth your while." This leads to the non-journal quest Pelts for Bohrs the Tanner. If you return with the pelts, he'll thank you: "Hey, these are good! You get these yourself? You're a pretty good hunter! Here, your payment, as promised!"
